Doune hillclimb Marshalls post 2 on Sunday pm - timed run 2?
Discussion
Now there's a thought!!
Nothing so exciting I'm afraid - you've been at Doune, you know how drivers say thank you to the marshals on way down. I'd done that as usual, came round a corner to post 2 to see the marshall there clapping me - which being an emotional female made me sniffle (nicely of course!) but it was so nice given the circumstances of my driving there.
I have secondary breast cancer in my back and elsewhere so things aren't the easiest for me, and the 2nd timed run was only the 3rd drive up the hill I'd been able to make that weekend. My last experience in June was 3 out of 4 failures at East Brae with badly scrunched car resulting; add to this another scrunch at Kames first time out after Doune repairs, and you'll understand my confidence was rock bottom. To have gone up and down 3 times I was emotional anyway, and to have done 66.66 on my last timed run so 'auspicious' a time I now have to keep well til after April next year - as I've said elsewhere, how can I go to my death bed knowing my last run at Doune was 66.66 ..., the clap was the icing on my cake!
Not sure which if any or all of this inspired his action but it meant a lot to me!

hey hon, you were out racing and that shows a hell of a lot of guts, keep fighting hon. I know you were pretty ill at kames (gordon from EACC told me) that was before your exploring of the scenery. I know what you are going through having seen it far too often with family and friends just try and keep the head up, you will be back at kames next year, you missed out on a kiss and cuddle from me this year xxx
