Hey,

Got a slight diesel leak (it appears to be at the top of the injectors) on my 2005 Mondeo TDCI.

Just wondering if anyone could recommend a good diesel specialist/ garage who knows what they are doing. Kind of loathed to put it into Ford...

Cheers.

You could try Harbour Garage on Friarton Road.

They are tenants of mine but have a pretty good set up and MOT facilities there.

They are next but one to the Harbour Master's Office

Lamb & Gardiner on the A90 at Inchmichael near Errol are highly recommended. Their main garage in Blairgowrie is a Ford Franchise but the Errol one is independant. http://www.192.com/atoz/business/perth-ph2/garage-...

Anyone any idea what's causing this before I take it in?

It's not easy to see from the pic, but it looks to me like injector number 3 is leaking from the union with the fuel pipe.

Have you tried nipping it up?

I'll post up a close up pic later. You may be right about injector 3 tho!

I still say the high pressure connection to injector 3 (the left hand one in the recent picture).

It may well just respond to being tightened up, that's what I'd do - in fact, I had a diesel leak (probably not as bad as yours though) from one of the high pressure pipes on the D5 and it went away after a tweak with a shifter.

Gunk down and wash off the engine afterwards and that way you won't be confused by previously spilled fuel.

Forgive my ignorance but are we talking about tightening the "Gold" bit, or the little black bit underneath it? My mechanical skills go as far as changing a tyre....

Tighten the gold bit, but use a spanner to hold the flats on the injector (black bit) underneath to stop the injector being strained.
