Those of you who know me will know that my Porsche has been up for sale since July.

I still haven’t had any decent offers on it, and I think I really need it gone before the end of this month.

I don’t think I’m allowed to post my own ad, am I?

Don't know about the OP's one, but this looks nice:

Looks like I have a buyer. Anyone seen a pocket money classic car for sale lately? Thinking about a wee MG ...

Would have to be something I can put on classic insurance (extra points if it's also tax exempt).

All feasible.

Just going to keep my eye out for things in that price range. MGB GT, Mk1 Golf, Mk1 MR2, Porsche 924 … that sort of thing.

Or give in and buy a bicycle. What the hell?

Oh aye, one of them an all.

Are you wanting an actual classic or just a retro number?

Either or. MG etc could get me into an actual classic … pre-’73, tax exempt, etc. At the very worst it has to be on classic insurance. I’ve never owned a modern car and insurance companies just laugh and point at me if I ask for quotes on something normal. For example: I was offered a modern Volvo in p/x. Phoned around out of curiosity and my best offer was over £8k for a year’s fully comp cover. I’ve been paying less than £500 on the Porsche.

Exactly. Only ever owned 944s! Drove company cars or borrowed cars until then.
