I want to treat the 911 to a proper valet ahead of winter - I'm based near Aberdeen and am unsure who to use? I've used SS Autovalet in Union Square and find them fine for a good clean-up every couple of weeks.

This is my daily drive so I really want to give it a proper valet ahead of Winter. I'm uncertain as to what products/wax would be best to protect the car over the months ahead. Can you get such a thing as a "winter prep" for paintwork?

Agreed, I just got my sag a enhancement detail there, it really is impressive what those guys can do to a car! Forget your quick polish in a supermarket car park if you love your car!

Agreed, but do it yourself, there is nothing difficult about it, just time consuming, I do confess to losing a couple of days in the garage.

I bought all the equipment from Polished Bliss, talked through all the different waxes, polishes, cutting compounds, pads etc etc. They were very helpful, just go in and have a chat.

It's very satisfying, you can instantly see results when comparing panels. I spent nearly £250 on products and machinery, but it would of cost £700 for them to apply the same products and time. Plus I have the polishing machine to use on each car and only used half the content of each product.

These guys did my fathers Q7 pre delivery when new and are just about to do a winter prep on it this weekend. Very good indeed. Based in Elgin.

I have been thinking about getting this done, was it a one day job?

+1 for Alan at AM Details, very knowledgable and all his products are excellent and very well priced. Rumors of a aberdeen based supplier stocking his gear is also in the pipeline.

It was a 2 day job I had done, you can do 1 or 3/4 depending on how far you want to go and what condition the car is in.

I would have done it myself but I don't trust myself with a machine polisher on a paint job as expensive as on the sag, too many sharp body parts to get wrong too!

I know what you mean! I don't care what anyone says, machine polishing a car is not just something you dive straight in to. I have been involved in car repair and paintwork for many years now, and have all the stuff to do paint correction, but its something that needs a lot of training to get right, we'll to my standard of right anyway.

If you check out Polished Bliss' website it says they are now booking in to Dec and Jan.

I cover Aberdeen and am up there fairly often. I usually try and tie a few jobs in together and I am there at the start of next Month. If don't have somewhere indoors to work then I have access to somewhere.

Take a look at my website in my profile and give me a shout if I can help.

Thanks

Thanks for that,
I won't be looking at getting any work done till after the winter blues are over. I have bookmarked your site.

Cheers

My car is going in for the Full works at AM before the show season, some of his 50/50s are very impressive and he is fanatical about it!

Thanks for the recommendations guys - however we are now fully booked up for the rest of the year so wouldn't be of much use I'm afraid.

I can recommend AMDetails though as we've passed a few cars his way and have had no problems :-)

My recommendation would be Andy James of AJ Auto Detailing. Having used a couple of different valeters including the company mentioned earlier i can safely say Andy is by far the best and most professional in the Aberdeen area.

I've seen Andy James of AJ Auto Detailing's work too, and it's very good. Think he's got me booked in for December actually... need to finalise the details!
