Car Photography Aberdeen
Discussion
I normally take photos of moving cars, but have done a few static shoots as well if you haven't found anyone else yet.

i have a friend who indulges in amateur photography and has spent a fair bit of money on his DSLR.
we have already done a photo session and i was amazed at what he could do with just the camera, only to be informed that "i'll play about with the pictures more when i get home". they looked great to me already, but he turned them into something akin to art. i'll post up a few examples when i get home.
i know that he would be up for the experience and loves the challenge of photographing cars. beer tokens sound like his type of currency aswell
PM me and i'll pass on his details

James,
That is a stoinking Aston! will give your mate a PM. I like the effect on the sky.
Cheers,
ken
If you want to fire me a PM, I know my way around a camera and I can give you advice over the net if you want, as I live in Inverness, taking photos of your car in Aberdeen would be tricky for me, would need one hell of a lens! That is a stoinking Aston! will give your mate a PM. I'm good with a camera if you want some pics taken, I have a DSLR with a few lenses and always happy to help out a fellow PH'er.
I'm in Aberdeen as well, probably best to PM me.
Brett would you be interested in getting a few shots of my new Cerbera once I've picked it up in a few weeks' time?I'm in Aberdeen as well, probably best to PM me.
could anyone advise me on camcorders?
i'm looking for a secondary cam preferably under £1000. the main focus will be motorsports/in car use.
it does not need to be waterproof or destruction proof as i have a gopro already. the sound need not be great either as i intend to get an external mic, but jack socket will be required for this (most come with this anyway)
would i be better with a cheap body and expensive lense or other way round?

Get hold of a Canon 60D and install Magic Lantern on it to get around the 30 minute video limit.i'm looking for a secondary cam preferably under £1000. the main focus will be motorsports/in car use.

It has a mic jack and with Magic Lantern installed you can view the levels on screen.

i looked into this and the short story is that proper photography cameras are not great as video cameras. the main reason is that their autofocuser is incredibly slow compared to camcorders (not to mention the horrendous noise they make when focusing). they are a much higher quality but are not as long lasting or as useable as a video cameraIt has a mic jack and with Magic Lantern installed you can view the levels on screen.
thanks for the suggestion though

Hi, yes I live about 20 minutes out and work in the city.
there is a TVR group that gathers once a month (usually at the fennel in Inverurie), they are a great group and a wealth of local knowledge.I'll PM you when they decide to meet up this year, if you would like?
