Forgive me since I don't work/live in the town...

There is still a Renault dealer in Aberdeen, right? I thought there was an Evans Halshaw down the Lang Stracht, but both their and Renaults website seems to deny knowledge of this.

They've still got list on Pistonheads though... http://classifieds.pistonheads.com/classifieds/dea...

What gives?

I think they've upped sticks, but can't be that long ago because I mind a feww of you guys were having shots of the renaultsport megane.
If it was next to jag etc, the showroom is closed, was eyeballing clios with Mark G over the hols. (Went out in a clio 200 cup at arnold clark, its a nice piece of kit!)

I did have a go in a Megane, but was in Inverness last summer. Didn't think the Aberdeen garage had any RenaultSport models in.

You thinking of replacing the Elise with a Clio? tongue out How did it compare?

That'll explain it then!
My car ain't going nowhere! Mark getting itchy feet and was looking at a few things, landed up having a try of the clio out of interest. I was only in the passenger seat, but I was still impressed with it. Feels a nimble car from the wrong seat anyway and Mark thought it was decent.
Was only 20K on it though and a layer of the leather on the top of the steering wheel was already rubbing off. Overall a very nice car, but I don't know how they still haven't got the steering wheels right!

RE the melting wheel it's a common issue, renault deny all knowledge but a quick google will back you up and get it replaced from renault.

I still kinda want a 200, but i'm happy with my Jap Crap wink

Peter Vardy has bought the Renault/Jaguar site on the Lang Stracht and closed the Renault dealer down on 1st Dec.

Nearest Renault dealer is in Memsie near Fraserburgh.

The garage on the Lang stracht must of shut down pretty recently, as I was considering a new Renaultsport megane to replace my older one. I was using the memsie garage for any recalls but they kept quite a limited stock, but were a really nice family owned business and I did enquire about a new megane and they would of been happy to supply me with one.

In the end I decided on something else with more doors.

Any idea why Evans Halshaw sold the place?

Possibly due to a surge in replacement steering wheels turning a profit into a loss!

Hopefully people boycotted them due to their service!

Last year my renaultsport went into limp mode, the soonest they could 'look' at it 4 weeks later!!

Ended up driving down to Edinburgh at 50mph all the way and it was looked at that day.

Renault going down the pan with less models on offer in the UK and Nissan being separated off I would guess made the site unsustainable.
