Can anybody give recommendations for a paintshop (or a bloke in a lockup) that they'd trust to do a bare metal respray on an old (1960's) vintage car. I need someone who knows the potential issues of working on cars that have been origibnally painted with Cellulose based paints. The car has been painted a year or so ago and some areas of the paintwork are reacting with the old stuff underneath. I reckon it needs to be taken down to bare metal on the bootlid and bonnet, but doesn't need the full bare metal treatment as the rest of the car is sound.

Ideally need someone in the Ayrshire / South West area, but will travel for the right paint job at the right price!

Other side of the country but Chic Doig in Fife would do a top job. Not likely to be cheap mind.

Graeme at Retro Restorations is exactly who you need - this kind of job is just up his street. Only drawback is his location - just short of Fraserburgh. But I'd seriously consider him if you want a good job done - he's been 'at it' for years.
