I am looking for recommendations for a pre purchase inspection on. 2002 911.2. I need a fairly thorough inspection carried out and preferably a mobile service.
The car is in Bishopbriggs. The sales guy has recommended Motortune in Shotts. Can anyone suggest other inspectors?

To be honest, Peter at Motortune knows Porsches better than anyone who’s closer to you. and is as fair a guy as you could ask for. He won’t overcharge and he’ll be 100% honest about the car even if it’s one of his own mates selling it.

There‘s a good Porsche specialist in Maryhill as well, called RPM, but Peter’s better. Your next best bet would be Brian Miller Motors, over in Edinburgh. He’d probably be up for travelling through, but the travel costs alone could make him more expensive.

Edit: I forgot about George Morrison, aye. Never used him myself, but I’ve heard he’s okay.

I'm not sure if Peter does inspections off site?
Stuart Patterson of SP Autobahn in Stirling is also a good shout

I would avoid a mobile inspection if at all possible.
If the seller is serious he would take it from Bishopbriggs to Shotts wait an hour and then return home.
In an hour Peter will tell you enough to enable you to assess a purchase and you only pay an hour labour charge.

Peter did my PPI and didn't miss anything - except poor aircon efficiency - but I forgive him that as it was minus 8 on the day!

Another recommendation for Peter at Motortune. Haven't used him for a PPI but maintained my 968 for 5 years and was excellent.

Agree about getting the car taken there rather than a mobile inspection particularly as its so close.

Good luck.

Thanks folks, have arranged to have the car inspected at Motortune early next week.
