Motorcycle servicing in Glasgow
Discussion
If you're willing to go to Hamilton I can highly reccommend Hamilton Motorcycle Services.
Davie there does a great job and his prices are good.
I buy all my tyres from him and he's serviced a few of my bikes, always done to a good standard.
Last year BMW quoted me £700+ to give my R1150RS a full service. I took it to HMS and it was just under £400 but that also included fitting a new oil pressure switch and oil level sensor - bike has been running great ever since.

I previously would have said the same, but a conversation with a new engine builder made me think differently after he stripped my engine. I won't say more due to name & shame rules, but if you want the full version PM me.Thanks for all the input so far, I am not sure I am any closer to deciding. There seems to a lot of conflicting opinions.
I had to source a new battery today and ended up buying from Devine. They were really helpful, had it in stock and within a fiver of the best web based cost I could see, plus it was supplied fully charged, so very impressed with the Honda dealer

That's mostly the old Scotbike staff in there, good bunch - had forgotten about them to be honest.I had to source a new battery today and ended up buying from Devine. I cannot complain about the work they did though.
Scotbike moved from Great Western Road to the building that is now occupied by Victor Devine.
They were bought over by M&P who eventually went bust.
Don Rutherford the MD was down South for a few years doing something there and as you say is now Dealer Principle of West Coast Harley. The general manager Iain Wilson is now managing Victor Devines.
I worked in Scotbike Gt Western Road March 93' - April 95'
It was a great place to work but the retail sector was never for me so I moved on. To me it was the best bike shop in Glasgow by a long way, bought a lot of bikes from there before and after I worked for them.

Scotbike were very good. I got my first kit from them when they were on Great western Road. I was disappointed when they shut down.Iit was a good venue the built just of the expressway (now victor devines) and they even opened on a sunday so you could pop in for a cuppa after a run. (why don't more bike shops open on sundays?).
Anyway you will get good and bad reviews about every shop if you look hard enough.
I will still use Hamilton Motorcycles myself.
RE. the Harley shop. Harleys are not my thing but my bro in law was over from Perth wa and likes his cruisers so took him in for a wee nosey. Got to say other dealers could learn a thing or 2 from them. Very friendly bunch even when they knew we were not buying and a great layout in the shop. It was a breath of fresh air and more of an experience than just popping to the shops for a bike.
Johnny.
