Im looking at buying a car from way down south and its going to be a pain to get there and back.

Has anyone used a company to pick up and transport a car that they would recommend ? Have put it into shiply for quotes but would prefer a personal recommendation or even to give the business to a PHer

I've used Angus Transport a few times to pick up / drop off cars I've bought / sold.
Fantastic to deal with. Excellent Prices. Happy to load cars with very low ground clearance - e.g. TVRs

And ignore the fact they're based nr Aberdeen: I live in Fife and have had them pick up cars from Reading & London to deliver to my work in Glasgow and Livingston.

I can't recommend them highly enough.

These guys picked up the Chim for a buyer when I sold it - seemed to know what they were doing, but no idea of cost...

Try Car Storage Scotland. They picked up my Ferrari from Norfolk, transpoted to their premises for 4 days then delivered to me in Glasgow when I got home.

Very professional setup and all covered transport. Highly reccomend them.

Try Shiply - it's an auction site where various companies/people can bid to transport your item. I've used it a couple of times and have been very impressed... quotes were substantially less than any other transport company I approached.

I have done this a few times.

Best idea is to get a rough quote using the following sites, shiply or anyvan.

I use anyvan as i find them to be cheaper and never had an issue.
