Plaster it over Facebook - owners clubs, "cruise" pages, and there are specific stolen pages.

Good luck!

Car has been found!

Police found it in Bishopbriggs full of cider cans, pills and dents.

Is it just me or is this unusually brazen method of theft just for a joy ride?

No offence to your mate but instead of this being brazen, I would say its actually the lowest risk theft for the tea-leaf.
He gets away with the car and the keys and realistically would be able to dump it and run if caught up with by the police.
If the theft hadn't worked out, your mate would either have told him to p off or maybe wouldn't actually have twigged that he had been planning to steal it.

How did the guy contact him to test drive the car? Any telephone numbers? Although probably an unregistered PAYG SIM.

Comes back to the old question, if your car is pinched do you want it back or prefer it to be written off by insurance co after it has been ragged.
