Gents,

Taking Miss T away to Gleneagles and looking to see / do something whilst up there. Anyone got anything that's worth seeing / doing whilst up or on route there? Leaving from Edinburgh. Looking to do something abit different / change than the norm!

Cheers,

Simon

as in the hotel or general area. If hotel then there are events you can do in the place (as expected not exactly cheap) but apparently gundog experience is really good if thats your thing, horses etc.. Also the SPA as well- Golf obviously smile

Don't order the special edition Johnny Walker Black Lable whiskey that was commissioned for the G8 Summit- £1000 a dram!!
If you are playing Golf I would play the Kings course, it's my favourite.

I helped design the spa in my last job, its is lovely, she'll like that although the water attractions do lie a bit squint...

can recommend the apple and cinnamon scone in café Kisa - my usual haunt after a hoon up Glendevon.

I live a couple of miles away from Gleneagles, if you fancy something to eat my misses can sort you out at 'the Kirkstyle Inn' Dunning, the food is very good, it's a proper pub with a stream running next to the beer garden. Plenty of famous people pop in from time to time so can't be too bad.

If you take the turning off the high street in Auchterarder, down Abbey road on the right you can hoon down a great B-road about 3 miles until you hit Dunning.

If your thinking about going this weekend be aware, the village will be very busy as it is the 'Dunning International Duck Race weekend'. If you're not quick you will queue for a good 30 mins and all the burger will be gone. smile

I camped at Grand Eagles at the weekend and met my parents at the Kirkstyle for lunch on Saturday. Fantastic pub and the food was very good, although my venison could have been a bit rarer.
