Oil & Gas Offshore Career Change - Advice Pls

Thanks in advance. I am looking at leaving the police after 12 years service. My CV is taking shape and will soon be ready to go. At the moment I am trying to research the various recruitment agencies and employers that I can submit my CV to.

It would be of great help if somebody with local knowledge can tell me who the big employers / agencies are in the Aberdeen / north sea area?

I don't have a trade or degree so from what I've researched the most transferrable skills are likely to cross over into Health Safety Environment advisor / Emergency Responder Planning etc. That said I expect that to get a foot in the door I might be looking at something else to build basic experience in the industry.

Perhaps someone to speak to might be Mike Forbes. He's a very nice chap.

They're always keen to hear from people who can help with role playing during big exercises. That might give you a way in and allow you to make some contacts.
