Hi there,

An invite to all PH'ers .... (any late entries please get in touch as we're just about at our limit)

As the time is getting close I thought I’d send out another post in connection with the Bothwell Scarecrow Festival vehicle display. To recap the display will be held on Saturday September 14th at Bothwell Primary School, Blantyre Road, Bothwell G71 8PJ commencing @ 11am. Here is a link to the exact location on Google maps for those unfamiliar with the location :

https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=Bothwell+Primary+...

Just to recap - the display will be a diverse mix of vehicles from the 1920's to present day - car / commercial / motorcycle etc. There will also be large smattering of exotics - Ferrari / Lambo / Porsche / Aston etc down to more mainstream classics - so I'm sure there will be something for everyone.

If you're not familiar with the festival itself please read on .......
First and foremost please remember that this is a family festival with something for everyone and on the Saturday alone there are 21 different events on throughout the village one of which is our vehicle display – feel free to bring the family, park up, and enjoy the various festivities within our historic village – all within walking distance of the school. Here is a link to the festival website highlighting all the various events on the day : http://www.bothwellscarecrowfestival.co.uk/saturda... .....the festival runs from the 11-15 th of September.

Finally, please email me with any questions or queries that you may have in connection with the event.

thanks for your interest.

Regards

Barry Clarkson

Superb. It was running well at our single event at the old Hartwood Hill hospital site last month. Sad it can't do a lap of the policies at full chat!

I cycled through Bothwell this morning and the place is looking good with all the scarecrows out on display.

I am cycling in a sportive tomorrow morning but if I get finished early enough, I may bring the Westfield along for an hour or so in the afternoon if that's OK, now that I see the forecast is looking OK for tomorrow.

No definites though, as I need to post a fast cycling time with no hold ups, which is why I didnt commit in the first place.

Don't think I am going to make this now. Turned up at registration for the cycle event to be told its a 10 start. I thought it was an 8.30 start. Won't be finished until mid afternoon. Sorry. Was looking forward to it as well.

We really enjoyed this, lots of nice vehicles on display. Really liked the 2 army vehicles and a tasty mk1 Escort Mexico but the white Sierra Cosworth made my day! Great family day out.

Anyone got some photos? I live just along the road and was meant to be there, except I am stuck in Saudi.
