Hi guys. First post. Great forum.

I'm looking to work on an FPSO or similar type vessels in the North Sea. In really into maritime so would prefer vessels over platforms.

Has anyone any horror stories from any FSU/FSO/FPSO's?? Conditions, wifi, accomodation etc??

Equally are there any superb ones.

I have all my tickets and am looking a fitters role.

Hope yous can help.

Regards
Geordie.

The Gryphon is not a bad FPSO. Spent a Couple of years in dry dock. Decent food and WiFi in most of the ship. Triton is good. Wifi in cabins, great food as well. You don't really get a huge choice if you end up working platform or FPSO. They are all the same as the end of the day. Similar equipment and other things. Just ones fixed and one rotates.

I know a few companies say working on FPSO but most just say North Sea. I would take a rig, if you have high seas then you can still get off instead of being cancelled due to them.

Been on the alba, triton, anasuria and a few more I can think of.

Alba was great, really quiet, nice crew, nice laid back number.

Triton was ok to, bit bigger and crew a bit more clicky, food was pretty poor.

Anasuria is a good little place, cracking crews, good food.

Why not look at 28/28 on some of the African ones with Shell, BP, Tullow, Total and the rest? More pay, better weather, overseas experience...

Surprised nobody has mentioned the Bamform Ranff ... but maybe it's still not back in the field yet.

Agreed on the Anasuria, been there a couple of times! Good place to work and good crews.

Curlew, I didn't really like (may have just been the fact the job had gone a bit Pete Tong) but the Balmoral FPU, I really didn't like it there at all!

This was a while ago now mind you...

I'm a regular on the Haewene Brim and have been for 2.5 years now.
It's a good FPSO with a good crew.
