Thinking of opening a Car Storage facility - Glasgow Area

Hi All,

I've been considering this for some time and wondered if there is an appetite for such a thing?

I'm looking at Clydeside just off the Expressway.

Taking adequate security as an absolute given, what else would you Gents/Ladies like from such a facility?

Depends what you mean by storage:

Over winter storage would be good.

Near the West End but not on the congested street in front of your tenement for cars a bit more special/high day & holiday cars could also be a winner.

What someone really needs to do is take the Botanic Gardens Garage off Arnold's hands and find a use for it. Potential lottery win pad for me. Live in the top (with some Grand Designs-esque adjustments) cars/bikes/workshop in the bottom.

Hi if this goes any further i know a few people that are always looking for storage of cars. would it be complete storage or would people be allowed access to work on cars etc?

There is one in EK with ramps for hire and workshop area rent is about £10/wk with 24 hour security. Has around 25 cars and some caravans and boats.

That's pretty good. Still think there's a market for something more Central in Scotland's biggest City.

I was looking to store my DC2 Integra a few years ago over the winter period and I didn't find a decent car-specific storage facility within Glasgow.

A location in the West End, city centre, or even the southside would be ideal. Definitely a market for this sort of thing. All the best.

Why don't you take over the old "Drive" car garage area at Charing Cross?

I'm sure there will be space there for your idea and the unit has been empty for years so whoever holds it will be glad to have someone come along and use it instead of it sitting empty.
