Hi guys. I'm considering getting paint protection film fitted. I'm wondering if any of you have this fitted? Which brands did u choose and has it been sucessful in stopping the dreaded road rash? I'm leaning towards xpel ultimate at the moment so especially keen to hear if anyone has experience of this stuff and of any installers in Scotland. I'm based in the highlands and doubtful there will be anyone local who supplies it so am prepared to travel.

I've had the 3m stuff fitted on a couple of motorbikes and it's worked really well. The only thing is that the edges tend to eventually lift and get dirty.
On the bikes I did it myself, it's a horrible job and I couldn't do it on a car with bigger areas.

Hello there, I have Xpel Ultimate fitted to the front of my car at the moment and so far so good.
I've had other Xpel films fitted in the past which have protected the paint pretty much 100%, but had obvious orange peel effect when looked at closely, the Ultimate I would challenge anyone to spot, it looks indistinguishable from the non covered panels.

Of course installation is key, and from previous poor experiences (not Perth) I only now go to Paintshield in Peterborough, which basically guarantees a top job, although it is quite a drive to get there.

I'm in Aberdeen if you want to check out the quality of my film, just let me know.

As mentioned above, do not look past Paintshield, by far the best installers in the UK with the best product, Xpel Ultimate.

They have travelled upto my premises (central Scotalnd) a couple of times to work on customers cars and the results are superb.

Armourfend was fitted from new on one of mine and its held up pretty well on a car known to have thin paint. As mentioned by our biker friend the edges do become a haven for rubbish eventually which makes the lines more obvious.
When its fresh its almost invisible.
