I'm looking for a car I used to own. It was many years ago when I lived in Caithness, but it's now believed to be in the Aberdeen area. I'd like to track it down and possibly buy it back. I've checked as far as I can with DVLA, but they're pretty unhelpful.

This is what it used to look like when I had it. I believe it is now Red though.

If anyone knows the car, or has seen it, knows the owner etc. Can you put them in touch with me.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi SSC!,

Can you advise on how to contact HighlandOldSkoolFord? Their forum has no 'Register' function. Do you know someone that's a member?

Hi Steven,

If I mind right you can register (free) to access the site and many ask the question. If not this good looking chap might be able to help. http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/profile.asp?h=0...

Clearly never seen me up close laugh

Steven,we had a few problems last year with the site and a few changes took place and as far as I know it's still not possible to join up at the moment but I'll ask the question on there just now and see if anyone knows anything.

We have a few members in the Aberdeen area but it's not looking good going by the DVLA I'm afraid.1997 is a long time ago unless it's stored away somewhere.

Export Marker N
Vehicle Status Unlicensed
Vehicle Colour RED
Vehicle Type Approval Not Available
Vehicle Excise Duty rate for vehicle
6 Months Rate £123.75

I did see that on line and I spoke to a (oddly) very helpful person at the DVLA today that confirmed that the car has not been registered as scrapped, but that due to the Data Protection act they can't tell me who the current owner is. So I still have some hope.

I'd like to join the Highland Old Skool Ford forum when it becomes available again anyway though and thanks for your help in advance.
Kind Regards,

Steve.

Got a response on the site but it's not good I'm afraid.

One of our members bought a red 1600 sport in Ballindalloch a few years ago with the registration ESE and chopped it up for bits. However, still not certain if it's your old car or not yet,bit more research to be done tonight.

ETA after some more looking into it the car he chopped up had a crossflow in it,I'm thinking that it wouldn't have been your old one because it shows up as 2000cc on the DVLA check so must have had an engine change at some point too.

There's still a bit of hope yet
