I am off to London with my son for a few days in February.I will drive down from Oban and plan to leave the car somewhere near Central station from Sunday morning until Wednesday afternoon.

Does anyone have any recommendations? thanks

I'd park elsewhere in Glasgow and get the underground to Central.

All the carparks in that area of town are expensive. The streets nearby are heavily partoled and metered

alternatively, train from Oban?

Or park at one of the offsite airport car parks and get the bus into town. It stops right at the end of Bothwell St, which is across the road from the central station.

Depending how early you are leaving Glasgow park on street say West end and jump on train.

Mind you by time you factor in cost of coming down and parking Sleeper must me a near viable option from Oban?

What time is your train from Glasgow Central?

If you book right now, you can get tickets from Oban to Glasgow queen street for £9.80 (single) on scotrails website. Cheaper than petrol!!

If you get stuck park at mine in Falkirk (off street/dead-end). Quiet area and 2-3 min walk from Falkirk High station. Trains run about every 15 mins into queen street station.

Thanks folks, the trains from Oban to Glasgow are not at the best times so it's not really an option to train it down for me.

I think I'll probably try and park near Hyndland station and get the low level train in, or if I'm pushed for time just use Oswald street parking and suck it up!

The fist stop for the train will probably be Motherwell, I would park locally (for free) there and jump on the train there
