Just had the 172 in for an MOT and failed on the following:

Battery insecure ( needs the clamp fitted- no one on the car- can only find on ebay)

Exhaust emissions at idle excessive

NSF steering Rack Gaiter split (part is only £10 but I dont have the means to split the trackrod end to fit)

OSR Parking brake recording no effort (Tester said it was just a sticking lever at the piston)

Parking brake efficiency below requirements

We had a quote of £90 to repair, but I was wanting to get a 2nd opinion and estimate for repair costs.

can anyone recommend anywhere?

thanks

£90 seems pretty cheap to sort all that.
These guys are very good

Yeah, I called back to book it in, he apparently didn't need details to order in parts or that-odd, as it needs the battery clamp and the gaiter..

I'm not sure that I feel confident about it?

If it has to be close to Kirkintilloch - My sister uses N&S motors on Boghead road in Lenzie. seem to be good guys, very good at dealing with you quickly and I normally check they've done job properly, so far no issues with them.

If you don't mind travelling further i would 100% recommend Automek in East Kilbride. Andrew Baird owns and runs it. Will give fair prices and guarantees his work for a year.
