Myself and a few friends were planning on heading up to Ullapool in early July for some photography and stuff. Unfortunately the main hotels and b&bs appear to be fully booked over the Friday and Saturday nights we need, and we also need five rooms.

So I'm casting my net a bit wider and looking outside Ullapool itself as there appears to be loads of decent hotels & b&bs nestling in the countryside within a 20-25 mile radius of Ullapool. Has anyone got any recommendations they could steer me towards? Not looking for anything fancy or expensive, just somewhere clean and decent and big enough to accommodate us all.

TIA. smile

I've stayed in The Summer Isles Hotel while working up that way.

Loved it. Would recommend again. Food is fantastic.

The Summer Isles Hotel is nice. But also around Achiltibuie there are quite a few cottage rentals.

http://www.achiltibuie.com/ place.

Wonderful place.

I live 50 miles south of Ullapool, and yet still stay in the Kylescu Hotel quite often. (30 miles north of Ullapool). Lovely pub, Inn, clean (but small) rooms. Great spot. Fab food. Check it out.

ETA... was there last week... pic (was in one of the bigger rooms)

I've not stayed in the Dundonnell Hotel in a while but it's still getting good reviews and isn't far from Ullapool...

Thanks for the recommendations. Unfortunately the trip has been postponed until October, but at least we'll be able to stay in Ullapool itself - will be a bit less busy than early July. smile

Kylesku! Fantastic hotel - but book weeellllll in advance, gets booked out v quickly. Other one is Edracillies, nice hotel, but atmosphere a bit cold.

Remember the bridge shot!!
