Motorhome Hire?
Discussion
Alright gents,
me & Mrs Chimp have this "end point" in our minds for when we retire - sell up, downsize and pump some of the funds into a campervan and disappear off around Europe.
With this in mind, she wants to give one a try for a weeks holiday in July.
We need one big enough to fit us 2, Chimp JR and Haggis the Cairn Terrier (so needs to be dog-friendly hire).
Can anyone recommend a decent hire place that allows dogs?
We are also looking for nice places to head to around North Scotland - maybe even an island stop? Looking for these beautiful golden deserted beaches were we can stop and have a cuppa/stay overnight.
Destinations also appreciated although I will be Googling tonight but personal recommendations always appreciated.
Now I just need to get the plot of "Race With The Devil" out of my head....

Depending on time you have, I would head from Inverness over to Applecross either for lunch or an overnight stop, then you can head up via Gairloch up to Ullapool (both have campsites) then a visit to Lochinver and up over to either Scourie or Durness campsites. Then either back down to Lairg or on up to Thurso.
It's a route I do LOTS as the roads are sssooooooooo good!
Where is your location for hiring a van, there is about 3 in Inverness.

May of been this one, I'll try to find the receipt.

We hired one through highdays and holidays in Callander a couple of weeks back. Van was clean and well equipped, owners were friendly - I'd recommend giving them a shout. I believe they also drive a C63, so there's a bit of a PH link...
(no - I'm not related or affiliated to them in anyway!)
