Wheel refinishing / powder coating, I want the best!
Discussion
As it says I suppose, I have a Merc SL with the 19" AMG 5 spoke wheels which have a few chips etc, one has a slight flat on it from hitting a pot hole last year, don't let me get started on that subject though.
I'd like to have them re-done to look as they would when new, question is do I have them powder coated or have them repainted and lacquered, if the way to go is painting I have a good coachworks I would use however if its a powder coating job then I wouldn't trust it to the last few places I've used.
Who do I go to for a 10/10 job, I'm near Kilmarnock but will travel a reasonable distance - suggestions please

Phone Craig at skidz. He uses a local company to do the work but they will be spot on or he would get them put right. He is anal on getting things right. They would also refit and balance tyres without damaging your alloys. I use them for tyres and any car electrical stuff and have so for about 15years.
Mike 'The Polisher' without a doubt for me.
Did my GranSport wheeels - personally discussed the colour, process, finish. Top result.

Out of interest, could you PM me with who you have been to before? Have heard very mixed reviews from an outfit in Prestwick, im wanting my wheels powder coated next month and will just take my chances with them if nothing else comes up!
Hi mate The prestick outfit changed owner ship a couple of years ago, they did my track wheels and it was a very average job. Said company did 7 sets of wheels prior to change over to very good standards, I won't be back to them.

Thanks guys, from what I read elsewhere and these messages Mike seems like the guy for the job. I've taken a quote and he's advised the process he would use which sounds like it would return the wheels to the way I want them.
The cars been sitting in a carcoon since December and I was five hours yesterday polishing four panels with 6 still to go including the huge bonnet! - good job its an auto as I reckon my arm might fall off by the time I'm finished.
