Best Breakfast in Glasgow

I'm not long back from Ireland and found a few places that served up superb breakies - nothing fancy, just a full Irish breakfast that tasted great.

Can anyone recommend any Glasgow breakfast places?

I rate Cafe Zique on Hyndland street quite highly for breakfasts.

Just checked out their menu - thanks for the recommendation. The big breakfast sounds good but quite pricey at £10.00. It sounds like their produce is quality though.

Yup, it is dear for a breakfast but as you say, good produce and well cooked. I like their eggs benedict.

You can also customise your breakfast to the point where you could have anything with anything, should you so wish.

The cafe under the railway at the west end of London road by Glasgow cross, I think it might be called the coronation cafe, was pretty good and good value the last time I was in, but not been in for a couple of years.

The University Cafe on Byres Road is excellent.

By coincidence, one of the guys I was in Ireland with just text me a picture of a breakfast he had today in 'Moira Janes' on the southside - £7.95 for what looks like a tiny fry-up.

If anyone has been on the P&0 crossing to Ireland, you have to see their 'Big Breakfast' - £8 for what is the smallest 'big' breakfast you will ever see. It's a bit like the airport in that you have very little if any other options!

I do intend to try out some of your recommendations with my other half folks so keep them coming!

Cafe Circa on Crow Road is good and not half as try-hard as the website suggests. I've been there for many a hangover breakfast and it always hits the spot.

Another vote for their omelettes from me - biggest things you've ever seen! Very American as you say and I need to be in the mood for it.

Best value has to be Cafe 13 on Govan Road.

Great breakfast too.

I've heard good things about Tribeca but have yet to try it as it's not really my side of the city - like the sound of the American style food though.

What side of the city are you on? Tribeca has opened up a sister restaurant in Giffnock in the south side.

Ahh nice one - I'm in South Lanarkshire close to the south side and east end - Giffnock is closer by far, thanks for that.

I kind of see where you're coming from but I almost always go by the reviews on Trip Advisor when it comes to trying new restaurants and hotels etc. Most of the time, they seem pretty accurate but now and again, I've been surprised at how good some places have been rated. It's all subjective I guess.
