I do try to explain the pretend antipathy to the England football team to my English mates.
If Scotland were playing and were 3 up, the commentators would be saying, " aye it won't last, we have just been lucky'
If England are playing, and were 3 down, the commentators would be saying, ' This goals should never have been allowed'
I think it is down to the commentators and the bombastic fans whom the cameras follow, rather than the 90% Decent sportsmen who follow the team.
Anyway, Our fate at rugby and football international level is prescribed by the bible.
When god created the world he made Scotland his chosen country and the most beautiful anywhere in the world. To keep us humble, he gave us our national teams!
