SPU Response

I passed a fully marked up, what looked like a police vehicle, in the East End of Glasgow today. Car was blue but had the battenburgs and blue lights
On the back window it was marked as "SPU Response"

Any ideas what this is?

According to eliteukforces.info there is a Special Projects Unit?

"Special Projects Unit
A specialist squad of 30 Met detectives tasked with countering the threat of contract 'hit men' and drug and firearms trafficking. The special projects unit includes undercover and armed officers."

Seems a bit unlikely the Met would be driving round Glasgow though, unless they're on their holidays.

Perhaps it's the 'Salmond Protection Unit' practising for post independence. Every megalomaniac needs his royal guard

The Met were pretty much up for the duration of the Commonwealth games so could be a legacy from that.

Lucky folks, up north,you've just got Wee Eck. Down South we've got the Westminster Leeches ,headed by Cameroon, Osbourn ( might be better to use Ozzie) ,Cable and the flightless Clegg .And for pensioners, IDS (sounds like some nasty disease).
