Boxster sprung a leak

Hi guys,

My wife's 2008 Boxster seems to have sprung a leak as the drivers side carpet is continually damp, and interior of the windows get covered in bad condensation. I have checked the drainage holes below the bonnet and at the back under the hood, but these seem clear, and I can't find any damp patches on the door. Are there any other common places I can check?

Also, can anyone suggest anywhere in the Glasgow area that I could take the car for a check over if I can't get the the bottom of this? Don't want the electrics to get fried, and if it freezes things will only get worse!

Depends what side of Glasgow you are on but I used to take my 911 along to Motortune in Schotts. Peter specialises in Porsche and a lot of people take their cars to him rather than go to the main dealers (even when OPC servicing costs are. It an issue).

Try Geo Morrison motors. I had the same problem with my 911 turned out to be the seal on the windscreen.

Another option is Stu at sp autobahn in Stirling. Spoiled for choice now.

Did you run water over the drain holes nearest the roof mechanism? Sometimes they can be slow draining and in heavy rain allow water to overflow which then ends up in the cabin.

Normally if the door membranes have gone the carpet on the door will be wet.

Thanks for the replies guys. The carpet around the door seems to be dry, its just the floor that's wet. I'll give Morrisons a call to see what they suggest, think they are the closest to me.

you want to make sure below the passenger seat does not get wet, this is where control units are.
