Kwik Fit damage Porsche Wheels

I am looking for some help and advice reference damage to my wife's car alloys at Kwik Fit.

I recently purchased a Porsche Cayenne D for my wife and the baby that is on the way. It is black with black leather and has the Sport Edition wheels in black with the silver rim the car to look at is as new not a mark.

I took the car to my local Kwik Fit dealer as I have a good relationship with them and have used them for years on all my other cars for tyres, tracking and balancing on my Fiat Abarth, Golf and 997 MK2 and everything was great.

The Cayenne required the wheels balanced and tracking done so I popped in and no problem they did it while I waited. I returned home to find they had chipped and scratched every wheel. I called them immediately and took the car back for them to see and the manager took photos and said he needed to show his area manager and would get back to me.

I told them I did not have a problem as long as they were returned to they way they were. I got a quote from a paint shop and handed it in but they said they needed a alloy wheel specialist to look at the damage and price the work for them and he would contact me to arrange a time to look at the wheels.

Over the next 2 weeks the Area manager never contacted me to see the car or the independent alloy wheel specialist just not interested very poor service. I have been calling them every 2 - 3 days for nearly a month and today the garage manager calls me to say we are not going to cover the damage there must be a problem with the paint work on the wheels. And if I am not happy with this I can call Kwik Fit customer services to complain. I lodged my complaint straight away yesterday but thinking about it last night I do not have time for this.

I called back this morning and told the garage manager how could he come to this decision without seeing the car or your alloy wheel specialist. So I suggested I would get the wheels done again at another Kwik Fit dealer and a Porsche dealer and if they managed to do the work without any damage then that would prove the paint was fine and they damaged the wheels but if the paint did come off then it would prove maybe it was the paint either way we would find out much faster.

He did not want me to do this as I did tell him if I prove him wrong then he will be picking up the tap from the Porsche dealer and the other Kwik Fit dealer. So he can pay now or end up with a bill for double.

Go back to the garage and park your Porsche across the entry/exit, leave it there, phone the Sun or Daily record and tell them the situation and what you've done and ask them to send a reporter. Inform the manager what's going down and you're not moving until they agree they've messed up and will pay all costs. They've clearly damaged your car and therefore should be responsible. My uncle pulled a similar stunt at Audi Braehead last year over a compensation issue and when they realised the police wouldn't move him on and the tabloids were on their way they soon paid up. Job done.
