Porsche Indy Edinburgh Area...?
Discussion
Hi
I am based in Co Durham, so bear with me....!
A good pal who lives in the Borders,( and who is not a petrolhead by any means....!) has owned a nice Boxster S ( 2003 reg) for many years, but due to his very busy life, the car has been neglected for a few years.
I do know a really good and trustworthy indy Porsche specialist in my native Co.Durham, but I have no idea about the area around Edinburgh.
My pal has used a garage in the area before, but TBH they didn't really do a good job ....( at all ...!!)
As far as I know, the car has not actually run for a while. But it is relatively low mileage..( about 50,000 miles IIRC)
I would like suggestions for those in the PH community who know.....( and it has been very useful in the past ...!) for a trustworthy Porsche garage to honestly assess the car mechanically, and, if it is realistic, to re-commission the car so it can be used on a weekly basis.
Thanks in advance.

After an attempt by a Porsche main dealer (no names) to screw me around for £2500 of (I suspected) totally unnecessary work on my 997 I drove down to Edinburgh to -

Who is a legend in Scottish Lotus circles (I've been dealing with him since 2011).
He told me, as suspected, that it was mostly crap and charged me £80 to refix a heat shield that Porsche wanted £500 plus to replace.
As it was now out of warranty I took it there for it's next service and they charged me £700 for most of what a main dealer wanted £1800 for (there were a couple of bits that they still had to be done, but I got delayed getting there, due it being the Royal Highland show day and it took me 90 minutes to get to his place from the bridge which would normally take 15).
The rest of the work wasn't done then as I sold him the car.
I told someone in the Porsche owner's club about him and his friend took their Boxster to him for an aircon repair and as expected Craig's guys did an excellent job.
Craig can be trusted completely to give good advice on what to do with the car.
