I am heading to Montrose next week and want to avoid Aberdeen on the way home if possible.
I don't really want to spend daft amounts of time extra on the road but am looking for an alternative way if possible.
I will be leaving Montrose late afternoon/early evening and want to avoid as much traffic as I can.

Fettercairn, Ballater, Tomintoul, Grantown-on-Spey, Nairn, Inverness. Quick and easy. And fun smile

I'd go with that but would go through Carrbridge instead of Nairn.

Cheers,

I will try that route but will avoid both Nairn and Carrbridge and head via Culloden Battlefield instead. It was really the first part of the journey I was unsure of
Many thanks for the help I will post feedback soon
