Well worth a visit even at a young age. Can't comment on the Planetarium as haven't been to that but the Imax is great too.
Try to get there early in the day as it often fills up with school trips by lunch time.
Food there is pricey and not great so don't aim to eat there or I think you can take a pack-up/picnic with you. Good gift shop too with science-y based presents.

I took my son last Easter Hols...he was five and a half, and he loved it. We spent the whole day there...10.30 till 5. Only stopping for some lunch (cafe is very good...wide range of grub, for both parents and kids). We then went to the piccys at the IMax....very good indeed

Penny, I am extremely bored in glasgow right now, worth going to the Imax? hmmm dark night on @ 7. always wanted/been curious to see what it was like.
