Hi all, just thought I would say hello to you all and introduce myself, and maybe get some help while I am here.

I am just in the process of moving to Edinburgh as I have just got engaged to a girl there and so the natural process is one of us moves to the other (I currently live in Luton, would anyone voleterily move here from Edinburgh?) and so I will shortly be making the move. I currently travel up most weekends and have just started looking for a job in the local area, if anyone can recomend any job sites or other places to look I would be gratefull.

I have an interest in cars and photography and have tinkered with both as hobbies for a while, mixing the 2 on the odd occaision as some of you will see if you look at my website. I have worked in aviation most of my working life with 3 spells in Formula 1 with a couple of spells in car manufacture (Ascari and McLaren SLR).

Would be good to come along to meets, pub nights and any hoons that may take place and look forward to seeing some people over the next couple/few weeks/months.

Ian

Ello and welcome.

There are a few of us who live in Edinburgh and we regularly organise a drinks nights. Keep your eyes peeled for the Edinburgh drinks nights. But be prepared for a hangover afterwards.hehe

Think the next one is the 9th of April.

Cheers for that, I will have a look at the place and send my CV in, I have seen that place on my trips from the airport, never thought to search it out and see what sort of work they do.

Currently working as an office based engineer for an airline, so something along similar lines would be good, but I know this might not happen so am happy to look at other areas, might even try my hand at ramp tramping at the airport.

Cheers Steve, might have to pop across (and up) to your neck of the woods too, have a go at some landscape photography with some of that stunning scenary you are close to, doubt it would be anywhere near the quality that you do, but hey ho, need to try. Am spending a week near RAF Lossiemouth in a couple of months, not sure what the scenary is like there, but will be trying to catch some of the Tornados there.

Hi All, a little update, I am finishing work in Luton this friday and then need to finish decorating my house before someone else moves into it on 15th Aug, so i will be moved up to Edinburgh before the 14th Aug. Still looking for a job, seems a little sparse on the ground.

When i am moved p i wouldnt mind getting to know a few more peeps, so maybe we should arrange some kind of a do, anyone got a big garden for a BBQ for whoever comes along?

Hi megy, I'm an Edinburgh based aero engineer (well graduate) also. I think you'll have a better chance with the aero stuff on the west coast, if you're prepared for the commute on the M8 that is hehe

It might be worth looking at a few agencies in Edinburgh, such as Hays, if you want fixed up quickly. I did this out of Uni and ended up in the water game, still here 2 yrs later...

Oh, before I forget - East Fortune Air Show this Saturday. Vulcan's scheduled for a flypast thumbup

(and if you're busy, do you have a 200mm+ lens I can borrow? biggrin)

I am in the lakes this weekend and going to Windemere airshow, which will also have the Vulcan displaying along with a few other flying machines.

Hope you are well anyway, fancy a pint or 2 once i am up?
