You favourite roads for a hoon in/around Aberdeen?

I have been wondering this for a while actually, what are your favourite roads for a blast in or around Aberdeen?
I haven't really got much knowledge/explored enough but my two favourite routes are the back way out of Blackburn, through to Fintray and then on to Newmachar & the B&Q back road through to Dyce passing through Potterton. (Sorry for the lack of road names, I am utterly hopeless with them.)
Not very long route but they are great for killing an hour or so or testing a new setup.
Can anyone suggest any other good routes/roads?

South Deeside Road to Banchory, Cairn O' Mount, back up the A90
Coast Road to Montrose from Stonehaven is quick if not very inspiring, keep an eye out for the coppers.
A947 to Turriff/Macduff is also good if you can get it when it's quiet, managed mega speeds on the long straight coming back from a run on the bike. Again, watch for the coppers.
Slightly further afield, head for Ballater, then over to Strathdon on the A939, then over the Lecht. After that, the choice is yours, you can turn right and head back to Aberdeen via Dufftown and Huntly. Or, carry on to Grantown and either turn left towards Carrbridge and the A9, or turn right and head for Nairn.
The choice is yours, best option is to just pick a road and see where it leads to, there's so many i found that way when i was out on the bike.

Nothing beats a blast up to the Lecht and then if you are feeling ambitious, Tomintoul to Granton.
However, for a quick blast on the return from the shops, then it's the South Deeside to Maryculter and then the back road into Stonheaven before wafting* back along the A90.

huntly>dufftown>tomintoul>alford is a great loop for a Sunday drove. stop off at a distllery for a tour or the lecht for a bacon roll. Or cabrach i think its called is a nice wee venue as well. Is a great run for a nice day. done that a few times as its close for me.
Cairnomount is great an superb but be careful of traffic, and the bottoming of the car before you get to the clachnabenn foothill... flatten a sports cat on my coupe there!
Spittal of Glenshee south, but thats a bit far, also a great road. Again traffic can be hellish on this road.
I seem to like roads with scenery as well, seems to add to the drama.
I could tell you but then everybody else would go on it and it would lose its appeal!

Funny, never had the ABS kick in once or got above 60, just a cracking bit of road that i know VERY well, thank you. Like i said, it's about 10 miles of fun and games, plenty of tight corners and short straights. It takes somebody special* to do that to a car on a public road.
*and that's not a good thing incidentally

Or like this weekend get caught in a snow blizzard...this is mid way up! I went for a rasp at 4am as the sun was rising and I was staying in Peterculter...the way up was amazing...quick and sweeping through the forest...there is a straight section where there are bumpy crests I even got air, they have a MASSIVE drop at the side LOL...they I went over the bridge and started the ascent...got to top and this was the ressult! ^^^^^^^^
On other days we've taken a few cars up....thats fun...cars moving out of way for you to pass!!!
I love that mountain...It also has beautiful views and scenary

Cockbridge>Tomnintoul and the Cairn road are both favourites of mine.
Watch out on the Tomintoul road, I wrote off my VXT there a couple of years back because of a f

I was going to give the A93 a look on the way to Glasgow the other day but instead opted for the option of travelling through Dundee...I don't ever remember driving this road what is it like as a road???Steve996 said:
