Popped into the our esteemed Ford dealer in Aberdeen this morning to ask about lead times for the new Focus RS. The smarmy salesmen snorted at me and then took great delight in telling me that it would be sometime 2010 and people were placing their orders last year. No cancelled orders either. I don't have a problem with info like that, but his manner was pretty poor.

Anyway, ignoring his attitude, has anyone ordered a new Focus RS up in the nether regions of Scotland recently?

What a tool the boy sounds like.

My mate was selling his order to Lawrence of Kemnay and their buyer cancelled. Might be worht a call to see if you want.

My mate is now selling his on to another friend of mine. It's green smile

Ford dealers for you...

I bought a focus from Arnold Clark 2001 and if I hadn't been a green 21 year-old (and more like I am now) I would have walked out, the dealer was such a dick. Completely uninterested in a 9 grand sale.

How these s stay in business is beyond me. shoot

I got MUCH better service from a small rural dealer buying a 2k land rover the following year.

McRae and Dick in Elgin aren't that bad, I'm guessing they're still a Ford franchise?
I hammered their sales boy so hard on my purchase of my 306 he had dug out the paperwork on their purchase of it. Transpired that he genuinely would have been losing money if he'd forked out for mats for it. biggrin
30% off the sticker price, new tyres, year's tax and a full tank.
Had been lingering on the forecourt a while, and having a peugeot out there when you're a ford dealer is no good at all.

Seat guys at Elgin are less worth bothering with though. Weren't interested in making a deal so my money walked. Plus they were muppets, tried telling me a cordoba sxi would be cheap to insure as a 21 year old.
I pointed out it was a group 14 and would cost a fortune. Guy tried telling me it was a group 5 so we went inside to check his info out. Turns out I knew his cars better than he did...

Could be why they lost the franchise and there is now a Lidl there instead.
