Parking near Murrayfield
Discussion
Hey guys, me & a mate are going to the Oasis gig at Murrayfield tomorrow and it has worked out much more convenient and cheaper to drive in rather than getting the train.
Does anyone have any advice about decent places to park on busy days, preferably a secure multi-storey? Price isn't too much of an issue, as train tickets are £25 each(!) and the Corsa will only use ~£5 fuel. Also, how early should we aim to get there to avoid the bulk of the traffic, bearing in mind the gates open at 4pm?
Cheers, Dylan
PS Search function isn't working incase this has been covered before

There's not really any multi-story carparks at that end of town. Possibly park at the Morrison St car park and either walk or get the bus from there. Either that or park at the Gyle Shopping Centre and catch the 22 bus which goes right past Murrayfield.

McLeod Street is pretty handy (10 min walk), and you can just fire out along the A71 as everyone else gets jammed up on Costorphine Rd.
Where I used to park coming to Murrayfield before I lived here.
I'm now about 2 mins up the road.
Plenty pay and display round my bit which is obviously less than 15 mins walk.
70p for an hour, and restrictions stop at 5.30 so it'll only cost you a pound fifty.

Fountainpark is your nearest thing, and does allow your non-driving mates to have a few swifties in the sample rooms.Edited by Scotfox on Tuesday 16th June 15:36
There is a Sainsbury's on Westfield Road. Being cheeky and parking there may be possible.
Or at the other end of Westfield Road parking behind the Somerfield and McDonalds might work. Fountainbridge is not nuch further than that though.
Feeling fitter? Walk back from Castle Terrace car park.

Well, a combination of getting there later than planned and getting lost very quickly with a TomTom that wouldn't turn on meant that I ended up parking in Castle Terrace car park. The walk back after 7 hours on my feet was fun
Luckily I was allowed to take my dad's car, which was a lot more comfortable to drive through the traffic with.
ETA Was worth it though, Kasabian weren't too good, but The Enemy & Oasis were great
