Hi there guys. This will be the first post airing this idea.

After speaking to Paul Garklick, I will be organising a DAT Coffee, Cars & Crepes Morning in conjunction with PistonHeads to be held in about 4 weeks time. I would be aiming to get along a large caterer that does both Coffee and Crepes (such as the group that covered the Knockhill event at George Square in Glasgow recently), and possibly another food van.

What I am looking for is some input from the Scottish users of the site see what potential areas we could use and what dates can be set.

I was proposing to aim for borders area, to encompass the North of England as well so as to hopefully get a great turn out, on the 5th September.

Or aim for somewhere in the Central Scotland area on the same date.

What are your thoughts on this, cause primarlily at the end of th day it will hopefully be a mix of PH'ers and owners clubs attending?

Cheers

Fraser Gordon

Coffee, cars and crepes sounds good to me!
I'd be interested and could help with alfaowner club attending.

I would be up for that. I'm sure a few SSC folk would also be interested, although most of them are on here anyway laugh

Ok, just got off the phone with Jim (top bloke) at Valley National Park in Lanarkshire.

http://www.valleyinternationalpark.com/contact_us....

Jaguar owners club had a very successful event here recently so i think it could be ideal.

Looking a small entry fee per car, not per person (few quid) and it has all the facilities there bar the required crepe van lol.

Also, 5th September is out the window as there is a wedding that day, but Sunday 6th seems a go. Im going to go up on Sunday and check it out.

Obv with this being done in conjunction with PH, we will hopefully have lots of PH'ers there. Im also looking to get the Hill Climbing guys down, all the usual owners clubs, and anyone else you can think of?

How do we all feel about that date then?

I might be able to find some pics of a few Alfas that were guests at that Jaguar day.
Be good for you to see if the site is suitable for what your wanting to do, its not a bad venue for a small cost anyway, as its not easy to get anywhere decent free.....but it is a work in progress.

its a pity the date doesnt tie into the august run date, that wouldve worked brilliantly, a big convoy down to the meeting in the borders, lunch sorted and then big jaunt home.

C'mon you guys just an idea but is there a poss of merging the two? failing that, would def support both dates.

Right, had a chit chat with Simon and we decided it would be best to keep the dates separate.

This way it allows for us all to go for a blast one weekend then two weeks later get a real good meet up on the go and get to know each other. The venue also allows for a day out for the family as it has a kids soft play area, cafe/restaurant, BBQ and a hair and beauty salon for the ladies.

How does everyone feel with the 6th September, starting around 10-11am at Valley National Park, Lanark:

???

Hopefully I can get back home to get to this so provisionally I'll be
there. There's a chance I would be there anyway, PH meet or not, as
Junior often goes to Cheeky Monkeys, the kid's play area.

FYI, Jim who owns the venue also owns the nearby Tillie Bar/ Resturaunt which is the meeting place for Coltness Car Club and has lot's of Colin/ Jimmy McRae stuff on the walls, this was Colin's "local" (after "The Crown")

Put me down - RDM, if not me MrsRDM+Junior will be there.
