Hi,

Sorry for x-posting from GG, but someone pointed me to the regional forums as maybe a better place to post.

Considering buying a car from Carnoustie Sports Cars in Angus. Anybody dealt with them, good/bad experiences ?

Also, anyone know of a decent independent garage up near Angus/Dundee that could do an inspection for me if I need it. It is a long way to travel to find I am dissapointed :-)

Thanks in advance

Jon

I have known Gordon that owns the place for many years, can assure you that you should have no worries with him at all. He seems to have some tasty machinery in there right now!

With regards a local indy for an inspection, depending on which car it may be better to go for an AA/RAC inspection maybe?

If you want local garage then i would get it to John McGregor about 10 minutes in the direction of Dundee, you could always ask him to do a pre mot test?

Anything else, happy to help.

Thanks for the reply, I hate buying cars as you are always just a little bit wary of dealers you dont know !

The tip on a pre-MOT is a good one, and probably a sensible option.

The 500SL.

Like the idea of floating about in one, and they are hard to come by in decent nick, particularly if your missus insists on air-con !

That looks pretty sweet, do you want me to go past for a gander? Is the car wanted to act out your fantasy of being in Hart to Hart??

I think there is something about Hart to Hart in there biggrin

I may well be keen for you to have a quick gander as I always appreciate second (or in this case first) opinions. I have just asked for some extra photo's to decide if it is a potential go-er prior to getting more serious. If the photos are good then I may take you up on your kind offer.

Thanks

Jon

I bought my current car from Gordon, excellent service before/during and after. Really helpful guy and would recommend his services to anyone.

Thanks for the offer. I think the car has gone to the workshop now for a few bits sorting out prior to me getting it.

Have to say...........can't wait. Not been this excited about a car in years.

Nice one, I can recommend some good roads for the journey south if you want to avoid the M74 or the trully horrible A1. Oh, and I did go past this afternoon, and the car was not on site.

Would love some advice on routes. Dependent upon which day next week I come up, I will probably do a short distance on the day as I will have been on a train for 6 Hours. Then the following day, do a slow trip back to Manchester.
