Anyone stayed in the Glasshouse? Any good?

We stayed in LeMonde recently which was very nice, but fancy trying something different. We're heading down in October smile

Glasshouse by all accounts is fantastic!

Le Monde, certainly the bar and eating areas are 'super-chav-tastic'. Went a few times and now avoid like the plague.

Had a look round a few months ago (was using the roof terrace for a photoshoot for work) and it certainly looks impressive - they showed us the rooms too, as my colleague is getting married in November and fancied a nosey biggrin

No restaurant though, don't forget.

I really like the Glasshouse. Stayed a few times.

I've recomended it to a few people and they have all been back. Excellent hotel!

We were at the Glasshouse a couple of years ago, got upgraded to a suite which are all named after whisky and come with a carafe of the named beverage. Loved every second and would go back in a heartbeat.

Stayed there in June and got one of their suites. The television didn't work and neither did the shower. It ran freezing/ roasting constantly.
In the Morning when I advised they were not even nearly appologetic.
Would never stay there again.

Ok thanks guys. The Suite is £230 a night which seems a bit pricey. Might try that new one Missoni instead

Stayed at Glasshouse last year, bit dissappointed to be honest. Room was OK but nothing startling - good views out to gardens at the back. Hotel serves breakfast only - other meals are room service and only an honesty bar. Personally I prefer a real bar and decent public areas. Apart from the roof garden there are very few here. Strange feel altogether from this place especially considering the price. Much preferred Tigerlily on George Street but am sure there are others just as good.

Stayed there last year, yeah was good but not great. If you fancy a change from the trendy! try the Scotsman? Stayed in one of the small suites, it wasnt too bad price wise great view of princess street gardens aswell.

Was staying here on Tuesday night and had a very nice meal at this hotel that evening. Couldn't have asked for better and it was very reasonable!

I was very dissappointed with the glasshouse, deffo not a 5 star hotel, its essentially a posh travel inn with very little in the way of facilities. The TV was mounted on the wall badly, the lights in the room never worked and the wall paper was hangining off the wall....

The honesty bar is a joke and the whole place had an empty but pretentious feel. I have stayed in better hotels for less money! Once again we were Very Dissapointed with the Glasshouse.

The best hotel in Scotland in my mind is still Ardanaiseig House Hotel, Its unbelievably exclusive and you get treated like the only guests of the house....amazing! Recommended smile
