Far be it from a PHer to recommend public transport, but I'd be tempted to get the train.

Edinburgh roadworks are a nightmare.

Bring weaponry. Help shoot the council.

Edinburgh is a joke...

Apparantly if a pedestrian steps out from behind a bus in front of your car and you beep your horn at them it is deserving of an ASBO - apparantly.

Not been near the City Centre for a while but it is not good.

If the trains don't suit look into booking a Citylink bus return. They run late and in my experience are clean and reliable.

Speedboat? Tell me more!!

I'm enquiring about a few things just now. My last plan was shot right out the window when the finance company told me they wouldn't finance anything older than 10 years old frown That took my two main options away (F348/F355) - well, on my budget anyway.

Still thinking about the F360 but had a look round a Gransport the other day and I was muchos impressed. What'd you think?

Either that or stick with the Exige and use my money to kick it up to 280bhp?

I'll admit as frustrating as it is making up my mind, it's a nice dilema to be in!

Thats a shame about the fezza's. Although the 348 is a little slow, 355 is nice though. The Gransports a lovely and make a cracking sound. I love their design and think that would be my choice personally.
Yeah I co own a speedboat with my mate and we keep it in North Berwick. 18ft with a 150Hp V6 2 stroke on the back is good for about 50knots. We are thinking of upgrading to a slightly larger boat soon with a wake board tower etc.

How about driving through then and parking somewhere further out say in Newington just off Minto Street(where I live as there are no parking restrictions at the weekend beyond a certain point) and then get a lothian bus in. It only takes 10 mins on the bus and you wouldnt have to drive in the city centre. Just come off at Straiton junction. At the end of the evening you could just get a taxi back out.

Sounds good - will have to come down have a look if the sun ever comes out.

Yup sorry, to summarise - Edinburgh's a mare due to roadworks/potholes/tourists and the sheer volume of buses crammed into one single street. The council need a good slap. Or a public stoning. Or both... If you can then get the train and save the misery.

Considering every major road is dug up, that they change the road layout daily and that it's the Festival, it's really not that bad considering. It just proves there would be no congestion if they left us alone and we don't need these feckin trams!

For the OP you'll get parked no problem in the evening at the West end. Head to William Street / Melville Street area which is all office parking during the day and deserted at night. 5 minute walk to Charlotte Sq.

Edinburgh is pretty much ruined at the moment, but it has been for a year or two now, at least in the centre of town anyway...

Failing the above head for the carpark in Castle Street.
