Hi, can anyone recommend a Aberdeen (shire) block paving company (For a driveway) that they have used please. Otherwise it's going to be lucky-dip in Yellow Pages.

Cheers
rob

What is it that you are after?

Are you after lock block?

If it is i could recomend someone as my Dad does it i believe he is still in the yellow pages. Mike McHattie would be under builder.

If you like we are in the middle of laying our own and have just done our neighbours driveway amongst others if you would like paictures im sure i could help you out.

Thanks Ross, it is lock block i'm after. I'm actually considering doing it myself being a DIY dervish, but there is 16Sqm of digging to do and i've never laid blocks before, although i've done a fair bit of research on line, just depends what the quotes are like.

Pictures would be good though!

On a little aside here, my dad got this done to his driveway a couple of years ago and it gives no end of maintenance hassles!

It was laid with the sheeting below etc but constantly get moss and weeds springing up between the blocks. No amount of pressure washing, re sanding, weedkiller etc will keep it at bay.

Might be suitable for a driveway that has no greenery nearby but otherwise I would never get this done again. On the other hand my aunt got her driveway tarmacced about 15 years ago, bordered with lawns etc and there has never been a single weed appear.

Agree the bloc looks great for first year or so but after that it becomes a nightmare!

Unless anyone has any hints tips on how to keep bloc driveways clean?

The pictures dont show it in a great light, i can assure you my dad is not a cowboy. Considering he has done it for years and gets alot of his work from word of mouth (by people recomending him to others).

Also if the OP wished he could get numerous adresses to go and look at where work has been carried out and make his own judgement. no picture is as good as seeing the same as some thing in real life.
