Hand held speed guns... Spotted in Ediburgh. What madness!

Has anyone else come across this recently?

I have also heard that they have now got speed camera`s in traffic lights. Theyvbecome live when the light moves to amber and it takes you pic if you jump the lights and can also meassure your speed too.

Can anyone confirm this

Yep latest technology - for 1999.

They measure your speed by default and that does appear on the photo - but the offence they detect isn't speeding, it's jumping the red light (they are activated on red, not amber).

The wardens with guns are usually only deployed around schools at chucking out time in my experience.

Do they have any legal powers though?

Surely they haven't gone through all that rigorous and expensive speed enforcement training that the Police get?
