Last weekend I got a surprise present from the other half for our anniversary. A gift voucher from www.openroadhire.co.uk in perth, Scotland's only Caterham 7 hire company.

Saturday was a cracking day, and what more could a man ask for other than a Caterham 7 when the sun is shining. Openroadhire have a choice of 20 routes you can pick from or do your own thing. We did Crieff, Lochernhead, Killin then back through the Trossachs, Callander to Perth on quite a few back roads I 've never seen before.
Our 7 was a Rover engined 140 bhp SV with a bit more ellbow room. It's a diferent world driving a 7, bikers wave at you other sports car drivers wave aswell, I only broke traction once, where the water was streeming across the road. the cornering grip of this wee thing is just incredible, with only the limiter in the passenger seat giving the occasional beep, we had a great days driving. if you have never had a go in a 7 before, this is the best way to do it, and I'm still grining.

A big thanks to the other half and also Andrew at openroadhire, what a fabby day.
