Ye i read this was just back with a new carrier, we went on it couple of years ago with the XKR, was a bit hairy getting on, lol. I think that it may be a different ferry completely though? i don't think they just re-branded i think it may be a complete different company with their own ferry...

Do you mean the ramp getting on or the one taking you to the upper level? Just because the last time I went I refused to go up the ramp to the upper level because it would have taken my front bumper off so I just got parked on the lower deck with the lorries and campervans.
Yeah thats what I meant, I am going in 3 weeks, so will arrive early and talk them into getting parked up in the lower level. Last time we went it was the other ferry company, so I wasnt sure with this ferry.G
I couldn't justify spending the £700 (return) they wanted for me, my son and my motor
I've instead decided to go to Newcastle and cross there. Less than £300 return.
Try nutt travel if you're looking for discounted ferries. Unfortunately, they can't get anything off the rosyth crossing though.

That's a good price taking into account fuel and time saved compared to driving to Newcastle or Hull. Hassle factor as well needs to be taken into account IMO.
G, sorry for another question but what length of stay was that for?
We're planning another 3 weeks in Europe next July and would prefer not to have a drive down south for a ferry if a decent deal is available from Rosyth (25mins from me).

Makes sense to me since, if I include the cost of petrol for a round trip to Newcastle (in the vette), the overall cost is about the same. Plus you get a full nights sleep arriving at 10.00am, (Friday and Saturday nights at Spa will be late ones!)
Ahh, with Superfast(!) it was after 12 (local) before we cleared the port compared to 9ish (local) leaving IJmuiden. I've tended to be heading North and/or East, but Zeebrugge makes more sense for Spa...VetteG said:
Ally, that was for a long weekend, out Thursday night back Monday night, going to Spa for the Classic 6 hours and then onto the ring for a bit of a hoon.
I looked at a few websites before I got this price.

Thanks. I'd guess a longer stay will be more but I'll still be checking it out.I looked at a few websites before I got this price.

Over the past 5-6 years we have travelled several times over to Europe via north sea for family holidays ie 14 nights 4 of us in summer and despite Rosyth being 40min or so up the road Hull & Newcastle consistently were £300-500 less expensive so it was a simple choice to head south
The alternate day sailings also proved awkward in tying up with accomodation changeovers
