Afternoon all!
Still just a newbie, so forgive me!
Thinking about driving over to the Nurburgring sometime in October, just want to have a look and spectate don't see me doing any laps.
Just wondering if any of you who may have been before can tell me if there is any decent spectator points?
Where did you stay, and would you again?
And where did you do the crossing? Rosyth seems to be a bit eye watering!
TIA!

I was there 3 weeks ago I took the ferry from Newcastle-Amsterdam £250 for me the car and the GF. I just turned up and went to the fist hotel and stayed there (sorry don’t recall its name) could see the ring from out bedroom window and we walked down to a fly over on the last straight to get a good view only stayed 1 night then headed south to Switzerland. And enjoy great part of the world.

A great way to spectate is to take a couple of bikes around the paths that surround the circuit. There's a proper MTB track (very tame though) signed all the way around the circuit which we followed back in June this year, sticking mostly to it but often just stuck alongside the track. Took us about 4hrs taking it easy with lots of stops.
We parked in a supermarket carpark in Adenau here. Bikes let you access parts that you can't in a car, or would take you ages to walk out to, e.g. Karussell is a good distance from surrounding roads. IIRC there were also places to hire bikes in Adenau too if you fancy that idea but we had our own as we'd just spent a week in the Alps...

And you can very close if you hunt hard enough:

A good (& popular) spectator point is Brunnchen
(far right on map).

Easily accessable and good parking there.

Although to go all that way and not drive some laps seems a bit of a waste of time to me!

I have stayed at Hotel Am Tiergarten two years in a row whilst visiting the Ring. Highly recommended, run by Sabine Schmitz family. She is often at the hotel too! Restaurant in basement is a must although they now discourage you writing on the wall
Adenau Bridge is a good spectator spot, take pathway on left just before bridge (assuming you come from Nurburg direction)

Remember the track doesn't open until after lunch.
The Tiergarten hotel is nice, not much space to park though!
It's a nice drive from Spa Graeme, 6 hrs race is done at 22 hrs so you can be at the hotel before midnight.
Thanks Dink, we are travelling over Sunday morning so we will get there before the track opens, see you Friday! The Tiergarten hotel is nice, not much space to park though!
