Performance driving course (road) ???
Discussion
Not in Scotland, but I HIGHLY recommend this one: http://www.cadence.co.uk/
Hi,
There are others in Scotland who offer on-road Advanced Driving Courses and you may find the costs are a good bit less than Knockhill.
You will find there are driving schools who say they can do Advanced Lessons, but don't really offer what you or I would expect. There are only a few Driving Instructors with the experience to teach the Advanced Driving principals in Roadcraft and it would be up to you if you just wanted to better your driving or actually wanted to sit the IAM or RoSPA Advanced Test.
Most on-road Advanced Lessons are based on 'Roadcraft' which is what the IAM and RoSPA Advanced Tests are based on and they should stick to speed limits and general rules of the road. It is a good start, if you don't already have it, to get an up to date copy of Roadcraft then look at your own driving in relation to speed i.e do you stick to speed limits and more importantly do you make appropriate progress when it is safe to do so and also look at how you use and apply the 'System' as detailed in Roadcraft. Although cornering using 'Limit Point Analysis' is detailed in Roadcraft it is often better to practice and learn this with an experienced instructor.
I can't post details of the course I am aware of as the provider is related to me and I am not sure if that would breach any rules of the forum as I have just joined today having read details of the run out on the 11th October and thinking of going. But if you are looking for impartial advice or further information by all means email me.

Ian, I do advanced with the ambulance service and if you fancied going for a drive we could meet up, no charge involved, just a general drive to see where you are and see if there's anything that would help you out? I'm in Elgin and there are some cracking roads going up country from Huntly which might be a good halfway meet for us? Just give me a shout if you fancy it?
