Seems Strathclyde 'Safety' Camera partnership have painted the back of at least one of their vans a lovely fetching shade of green, with some tiny yellow chevrons at the bottom. No logos on the rear at all, and an orange light bar on the roof. Looks absolutely idential to a Scottish Hydro van, until of course you get closer and notice one of the hatches in the rear is flipped open with an LTI-2020 sticking out of it. Logos and Safety nonsense still up the sides and front, though.

I passed it today going into Forth, coming from Lanark. Was within the limit just as the van came into view at around 1200 metres, but coming down a hill with overhanging trees, so he may have seen me before I saw him. I'd slown from a not insignificant rate of knots to let three large tractors towing hay bales through a narrow bridge at the bottom of the hill - so I think the tractors blocking the view, combined with the trees, might have saved my ass... Might... frown

Sounds like the sort of thing a traffic lawyer will have a field day with.
