Hi all.
Just had a NIP though for doing 81 in a 70, i know i should'nt have been speeding but i was.
Anyone know of any way to avoid points?

Thats an interesting read. I got done doing 80 in a 70 a few years ago and felt a bit hadr done by. I wish I had read this at the time.

How long should you wait for a NIP to appear through the door before congratulating yourself getting off with it?

I saw a thread in SP&L forum - and don't quote me on this - but if I recall correctly, a lot of NIPs sent out during the postal strike will be invalid, as the scamera partnership has no proof you received it within the 14 days.

I'll try to find a link to it.

Er, slightly.

I overtook someone who speeded up as I was going past then when I got back on my side of the road I spotted a scamera van lurking under some trees.
Stood on the brakes but it was probably far too late.

Mind you this was on October 13th so maybe I'm in the clearsmile

If you don't recieve it within 14 days then you can pat yourself on the back and let of a sigh of relief. The postal strike makes no difference.

A guy on the MR2 forums ended up going to court regarding a NIP which turned up after 14 days because of a postal strike. He won the case and the judge said that maybe the law needs to be changed to prevent this from happening again.
