Hi I have started my own company and was looking for a good way to promote it in central Scotland

I fit hands free car kits Bluetooth and the likes
I am a mobile fitter so come to the customers at any time.
I have had my car graphics done and a web site is getting done soon.
Can any 1 recommend any other good way of advertising that works.

Thanks Mark

Hi Mark,
I own Ship Shape Fitness Studio in Falkirk and in January it will our 23rd anniversary. I have tried most advertising over the years and the best one is probably word of mouth. If you were looking for a mobile technition to work on your car, where would you look? I would go on line with one of the search engines or look in yellow pages.

I am coming to the end of a 6 week membership promotion which included tele-sales team, leaflet drops, half page adverts in Falkirk Herald and various other stuff. The leaflet drop and the Herald were the most successful. Hope this stuff helps.

I suppose you could always post your details on a local car forum?

Also, e-mailing businesses that have fleets of company cars may be an idea?

Even if you did have to travel a bit out of your way to a big corporate HQ to do the fitting, I am sure the massive amount of work they would have would outweigh the travel so don't only look in your local area.

Also try contacting a local radio station or paper that has a gadgets broadcast/column, giving the presenter free fitting and use in exchange for a review (although make it clear that they can go either way) can work wonders.

Up north we have a little free Mag called the ICA (Inverness City Advertiser)

It lists loads of things going on in Inverness for that month. They have an advert section and they go out to Inv and surrounding areas every month with the mail. I have found I get my bookings from this. You might have something in your area you can advertise in.

Best of luck with it.

Mark,

When you get your website done, make sure it is well optimised for mobile handsfree fitting in central scotland. There is no point in spending money on a website if no-one visits it.

I ended up buying one of those horrible clip-on handfree kits recently because I couldn't find anyone I trusted to remove my satnav system and wire the thing up without making a horlicks of it, so a professional looking web-page is vital.

there is a call for it.

I have sent Mr Trophy and Marian PMs

Advertising is only worth it if free or extremely cheap and placed correctly. Make sure you livery your transport and work PH like a good 'un! Contacting dealers would be vital too - when I changed my car recently the dealer was clueless about getting hands free fitted, and it's one of the most important items in your car.

Is there a good, and non-intrusive way to do this on here?

Don't want to be "pimping my warez" and breaking the rules.

Forum rules are forum rules, but I don't think that subtley promoting yourself as an existing member of the PH community is a sin. Anyhow, Garlic is a very nice and reasonable fellow....

hey, all the best with the new start, when i opened up my mobile air con service from stirling i mainly went on word of mouth, only now that i am expanding i have went to written advertisment in press and such. i also have a new website about to launch, maybe we could put links to each others on there. pm me your details also, i often have customers asking if i know anyone in your field, a handfull of your cards in my van might be handy
