For those of you that know about ceramic coatings, there is a new outfit in Scotland offering a ceramic coating service. For those of you who don't know anything about it, this site will tell you how it works and what it can do for you.

Black Performance Ceramic Coatings

It's interesting stuff, and anyone out there who is racing or tuning should be looking into it. They are working with some top engine/ car builders and race teams at the moment.

Also, would be interested to get some feedback on the website wink .

Very interesting stuff and seems to make sense. I wonder if it is expensive, is it a few hundred ££ or is it £1k for something like manifolds??

Hundreds - it's actually great value. I was talking to one of their customers who has a 550 bhp Audi. Without the manifold coating the manifolds were white hot on the dyno - once coated, they were fine and there was a power hike. Have a look at the video on the website.

I already had a look at the web site, and i think the evo could do with the ceramic treatment!!!!
You always wonder how much of a difference it will make to your own car, might pop through one day if i've got nothing to do and fancy a blast.

It's totally standard, but i've heard with a remap they can do over 300bhp and what a difference it makes.
