Any ideas of what is going on and where in the West Highlands of Scotland?

I.e. Ullapool, Isle of Skye, Gairloch, Applecross etc etc

Me and the OH are fancying a few days away over New Year instead of the usual carp. But were wondering if there would maybe be any sort of celebrations being held over the Festive Period.

Cheers
Alan

We always go to the Clachaig in Glencoe.
We camp but you you will be lucky to get accommodation anywhere now I think.

Not sure if anywhere does more formal celebrations.
I tend to avoid that sort of stuff.

Lots of country hotels do New Year functions, get a copy of Scotland on Sunday this weekend and look at the ads in the back of the magazine.

As a native of Lochaber (and points north) - it won't be your lum that's reeking,if your camping outside at New year - unless you've got a thermal bag ,it'll be your bum ( and other lower parts ) that'l be freezing .Suggest you take welding kit ( and safe to keep it safe from brass monkeys).laughOne consolation - it'll be too cold for midges .

Camped every year for last 4.
Never been cold yet once in the tent.

Between the pub and tent, that's another matter.
It is usually New Years morning cooking time that is worst.

But then I usually have other things to contend with then.
